Hattersheim-Hofheim Food Bank

Against the backdrop of growing poverty in Germany, theHattersheim-Hofheim Food Bank was founded in the fall of 2005 on the initiative of employees at St. Martin am Autoberg in Hattersheim.

The goal of the food bank is to distribute high-quality food—which is no longer used in the commercial supply chain—to those in need. In this way, the Hattersheim-Hofheim Food Bank, with its many volunteers, helps these people get through a difficult time and thereby gives them hope for the future.
Retailers, grocery stores, discount stores, bakeries, and farmers from the surrounding area support the food banks through their food donations. In addition to food donations, monetary donations and free services are what make the food bank’s operations possible in the first place.

The Hattersheim-Hofheim Food Bank now provides additional food to 880 households in the western part of the Main-Taunus district. In total, this amounts to over 1,940 individuals, including approximately 718 children.
