Markets and Trade Shows

Advent market

Visitors to the Hofheim Advent Market can experience the unique atmosphere of the pre-Christmas season on the second weekend of Advent each year. That’s when the market takes place on Am Untertor square, set against the historic backdrop of the Turmzeile.

More than 40 vendors, including schools, clubs, local businesses, and amateur artists, offer an attractive variety of gift ideas, food, and drinks. A children’s carousel is available for the little ones. The market is open daily from 12:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., and on Saturdays until 10:00 p.m. at the latest.

For those arriving by car, parking is available at the Chinon Center parking garage, the train station parking deck, on Lorsbacher Straße, behind City Hall, or at the Hauptstraße parking garage, among other locations. However, we recommend traveling by public transportation.

We cordially invite all Hofheim clubs, private individuals, artisans, restaurateurs, and business owners to take part in our Advent market on December 5 and 6, 2026. Please return your completed application form to us by August 31, 2026, via email or mail.

Hofheim weekly market

Every Wednesday and Saturday, the Hofheim weekly market with its idyllic flair attracts shoppers to Hofheim's city center.

For many visitors, shopping at the weekly market is a special treat. On the one hand because of the fresh and regional goods on offer and the friendly and personal advice at the market stalls, on the other hand the market is always a meeting place where you can have a chat here and there.

Around 20 stalls offer a high-quality, fresh and varied range of products. Fruit, vegetables, fish, meat and sausage products, cheese and dairy products, poultry, baked goods, delicatessen, fine oils and vinegars, liqueurs, flowers and plants, organic food as well as a coffee bar and a sausage stand are on sale.

These items are complemented by the adjacent seasonal market with seasonal products.

Every Wednesday there are also Portuguese pastries, chips and a roast chicken stall.

On Saturdays, olive oil from our twin town Buccino is also on offer, as well as wine and sparkling wine.

You are welcome to extend your market day with a stroll through the historic old town. There are many smaller retail stores, cozy cafés and restaurants around the market square.

The weekly market is easy to reach by public transport thanks to the adjacent bus stop and the train and bus station within walking distance.

Ample parking is available a 5-minute walk away in the Chinon Center Hofheim, where there are further shopping opportunities. There is a limited number of parking spaces right next to the weekly market in the Am Untertor parking lot.

Would you like to apply for a stand?

Do you have seasonal products, e.g. garden plants, or do you offer a complementary range to the existing stalls, e.g. spices? Then you are welcome to apply to us for the seasonal market or for a daily stall.

If you would like to apply for a stall at the weekly market, please fill in the application form and send it to us, stating the goods you have on offer and a photo of your market stall / product range.

We will check all incoming applications and get in touch with you.

If you have any further questions, you are welcome to send them to marktwesen(at)hofheim.de or call us on 06192/202 263 or 06192/202 255.

After-work market

The After-Work Market has been held since 2023 on Ludwig-Meidner-Platz, between the City Museum, the Haus der Vereine, and the Wasserschloss. The event series runs from late April through mid-July. The market is open every Thursday from 4:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. The market is not held on holidays such as Ascension Day and Corpus Christi.

The After-Work Market has established itself as a popular gathering place and attracts 250 to 500 visitors each week—depending on the weather—who come to enjoy the diverse selection of regional food and drinks. It is intended to serve as a platform for local farms, producers, artisanal businesses, restaurants, and other local businesses, offering them a marketing opportunity or a way to enter the market.

The dates for the 2027 After-Work Markets have not yet been finalized. Applications are being accepted now.
