Hofheim Gallus Market
The Amusement Park
The traditional Hofheim Gallusmarkt always takes place on the weekend following October 16. If October 16 falls on a Sunday, the event is held that weekend.
Each year, the merry-go-rounds, Ferris wheel, chain swings, and children’s carousels invite visitors to take a ride at the amusement park. In addition to all kinds of hearty food, there’s also a wide selection of “sweet treats.” At the game booths, you can test your skill and try your luck at winning prizes.
For those arriving by car, parking is available in the Chinon Center parking garage and at the train station, among other locations. We recommend using public transportation.

Operations end at midnight on Fridays and Saturdays—and at 10:00 p.m. on all other days.
On Friday from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m., plenty of family tickets will be available again. Anyone who gets one of these tickets can enjoy rides on many attractions at a discounted price during this time. Coupons for these tickets will be available at City Hall a few days before the fair.
The “Hofemer Stubb”
On Ludwig-Meidner-Platz, Hofheim producers invite you to the “Hofemer Stubb.” Here, “Taunus Hell,” apple wines pressed in Hofheim, and wines from the twin towns are served. An engaging music program is on offer, and the Gallusmarkt is traditionally opened here. This is where Hofheim comes together. Conviviality and entertainment take center stage.

The Market Weekend
Around 90 market vendors and artisans will showcase their wares in the city center on Saturdays starting at 10:00 a.m. and on Sundays starting at 11:00 a.m., both days until 8:00 p.m.
Most of the weekly market vendors will also participate in the Gallus Market, opening their stalls on Saturdays at 7:00 a.m. and on Sundays at 11:00 a.m., both days until 8:00 p.m.
Sunday Shopping: In conjunction with the Hofheim Gallusmarkt, stores will be open on Sunday from 1:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.
Advent market
Visitors to the Hofheim Advent Market can experience the unique atmosphere of the pre-Christmas season on the second weekend of Advent each year. That’s when the market takes place on Am Untertor square, set against the historic backdrop of the Turmzeile.
More than 40 vendors, including schools, clubs, local businesses, and amateur artists, offer an attractive variety of gift ideas, food, and drinks. A children’s carousel is available for the little ones. The market is open daily from 12:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., and on Saturdays until 10:00 p.m. at the latest.
For those arriving by car, parking is available at the Chinon Center parking garage, the train station parking deck, on Lorsbacher Straße, behind City Hall, or at the Hauptstraße parking garage, among other locations. However, we recommend traveling by public transportation.

Hofheim weekly market
Every Wednesday and Saturday, the Hofheim weekly market, with its idyllic atmosphere, invites shoppers to the downtown area of Hofheim.
For visitors, shopping at the weekly market is a special treat. On the one hand, this is due to the fresh, regional selection of goods and the friendly, personalized service at the market stalls; on the other hand, the market is always a gathering place where you can stop and chat with people here and there.
About 20 stalls offer a high-quality, fresh, and diverse selection of goods. Items for sale include fruits, vegetables, fish, meat and sausage products, cheese and dairy products, poultry, baked goods, delicacies, fine oils and vinegars, liqueurs, flowers and plants, organic foods, as well as a coffee bar and a bratwurst stand.
These items are complemented by the offerings of the adjacent seasonal market, featuring products of the current season.
On Wednesdays, there are also Portuguese pastries, French fries, and a fried chicken stand.
On Saturdays, olive oil from our sister city Buccino, as well as wine and sparkling wine, are also available.
You’re welcome to extend your day at the market with a stroll through the historic old town. Around the market square, you’ll find many small retail shops, cozy cafés, and restaurants.
The weekly market is easily accessible by public transportation via the adjacent bus stop and the train and bus stations, both within walking distance. Ample parking is available a 5-minute walk away at the Chinon Center Hofheim, where you’ll also find additional shopping options. A limited number of parking spaces are available right next to the weekly market at the Am Untertor parking lot.
If you would like to apply for a vendor stall at the weekly market, please send us the completed application form, listing the items you offer and including a photo of your market stall or product selection.
Do you have seasonal products, such as garden plants, or do you offer a range of items that complements the existing market stalls, such as spices? If so, you’re welcome to apply for a spot at the seasonal market or for a one-day stall.

Every Saturday, a 3 x 3-meter booth space is available behind the bus shelter at the bus stop at the seasonal market. This space is provided free of charge to Hofheim clubs, Hofheim schools, Hofheim kindergartens, Hofheim charitable institutions, Hofheim nonprofit organizations, or government agencies.
You are provided with a maximum of 2 market days per year free of charge. Items sold typically include cakes, muffins, or similar baked goods. Other items for sale must be approved in advance by market management. The items for sale must not compete with the products offered at the weekly market. The proceeds from sales must be used for a charitable purpose.

If you fail to comply with these rules or do not cancel your reservation in a timely manner, you will be charged €18 for the unused slot.
Please note that information booths run by political parties, voter groups, citizens’ initiatives, and other interest groups and representatives are not permitted on the weekly market grounds during market hours. Likewise, the distribution of flyers, petition drives, or political campaigns on the weekly market grounds is prohibited.
All activities taking place around the Hofheim weekly market must be coordinated with market management in advance.
After-work market
The After-Work Market has been held since 2023 on Ludwig-Meidner-Platz, between the City Museum, the Haus der Vereine, and the Wasserschloss. The event series runs from late April through mid-July. The market is open every Thursday from 4:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. The market is not held on holidays such as Ascension Day and Corpus Christi.
The After-Work Market has established itself as a popular gathering place and attracts 250 to 500 visitors each week—depending on the weather—who come to enjoy the diverse selection of regional food and drinks. It is intended to serve as a platform for local farms, producers, artisanal businesses, restaurants, and other local businesses, offering them a marketing opportunity or a way to enter the market.
The dates for the 2027 After-Work Markets have not yet been finalized. Applications are being accepted now.
