Further information on the application
Spouses
If the spouse is also to be naturalized, he or she must complete a separate form.
Underage applicants
For minors under the age of 16, the application must be submitted by the parents or the parent with sole custody. Proof of sole custody must be provided.
Minors over the age of 16 must complete a separate form and submit the application themselves.
For a preliminary check, you must complete a form using the following link.
After submitting the form, you will receive a process number, which you should then use to contact us by telephone or preferably by e-mail. We will check the information you have provided and contact you regarding the further details of the application. A further consultation is usually held by telephone. In any case, it is necessary to visit us in person for the final application.
Please note
Completing the online form does not constitute a formal application for naturalization. An application only becomes effective with your personal signature at the appointment to be arranged, provided that the requirements are met.
In Hesse, the magistrates and municipal councils in towns and municipalities with 7,500 or more inhabitants are responsible for accepting naturalization applications, otherwise the district committees of the administrative districts, the so-called lower administrative authorities. As soon as the application documents are complete, the lower administrative authority forwards the process electronically to the respective regional council, the naturalization authority.
