Experts advise start-ups and young entrepreneurs

In cooperation with the Verein zur Förderung von Existenzgründungen VFE e.V. (Association for the Promotion of Business Start-ups), the City of Hofheim's economic development department offers free and competent advice and assistance to people who want to start their own business or have recently done so.

The consultation hour usually takes place on the 1st Monday of the month from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. in the Hofheim town hall, Chinonplatz 2, room 4 (town hall entrance south, opposite the Esso gas station). Postponements are possible, e.g. for public vacations / vacations.

Registrations are required and can be made with business promoter Jonathan Raschke at the town hall on 06192 202-301 or by e-mail to jraschke(at)hofheim.de.

You can also register directly with Mr. Waldemar Haux on 06192 901810.

The consultation hour has been offered at Hofheim town hall since June 2007. An expert from the association answers questions on general business management, the business plan, marketing and personnel and all other questions relating to setting up and running a business. Issues that cannot be dealt with immediately will be referred to one of the other experts from the association.

Young entrepreneurs who have questions about business management after setting up are also welcome. The VFE (www.vfe-kelkheim.de) has been supporting start-ups in the Main-Taunus district and neighboring areas since March 1998. Fifty experts, known as "pilots" in the association, take on start-up projects completely free of charge and examine the concepts together with the founder in a start-up meeting with at least three experts.

The experts cover practically all sectors: Included are specialists for strategy and goal setting, financing, subsidized loans, sales and marketing, the entire commercial part of the start-up, quality management, data processing/IT, crafts, technology, natural sciences, medicine, tax and law. However, tax and legal advice is not provided. The pilot accompanies the founder during the start-up and is also the contact person for questions or minor problems afterwards.

Subsidies, what are they and who receives them?
A whopping 1,230 subsidy guidelines offer an average of €75,000 per company per year. The IfW Institute for Economic Research puts the amount of funding awarded annually at around €47 billion for 2022.

But what do you have to do to benefit from funding? The answer is simple: you first have to submit the necessary applications! However, this requires extensive information to help companies find their way through the "subsidy jungle". However, the multitude of guidelines and the many different types of subsidy make it almost essential to seek advice from specialists. One of the first addresses you should turn to is certainly theEconomic and Infrastructure Bank (see below for contact details). But also reputable, so-called subsidy guides, such as the company WABECOwill first check the eligibility of your project (free of charge) and then assist you with the next steps. However, the entrepreneur must also take the time to gather all the relevant information for the consultant and present it in detail in an application. After just a few days, the experts will be able to tell you whether or not you are eligible for funding.

The city of Hofheim am Taunus offers all tradespeople the opportunity to register their business online from the comfort of their office or home using the migewa online program.

If you have any questions, you can of course also contact the responsible clerk at the town hall. You can reach Ms. Birgit Schneider on 06192 202 265 or by e-mail at bschneider@hofheim.de

Further information on business registrations (registrations, re-registrations or deregistrations):

The town of Hofheim am Taunus offers all tradespeople the opportunity to register their business online via the migewa online program from the comfort of their office or home.

Whether you are registering, re-registering or deregistering: migewa online guides you through the necessary form fields. We have already provided the corresponding link in the introduction.

However, you can also send the completed form directly to the relevant team at the town hall; the important thing here is your signature and the date of registration, de-registration or re-registration. In accordance with § 14 of the Trade, Commerce and Industry Regulation Act, anyone starting the independent operation of a standing trade or that of a branch or dependent branch office must notify the competent authority for the location in question.

The following documents are required to process a business registration:

- ID card or passport of the business owner(s). Passport of the trader (for passport, confirmation of registration)
- For foreign nationals, a residence permit is also required
- 28.00 Euro fee plus 8.00 Euro for issuing a receipt
- For legal entities and registered sole proprietorships, AGs, KGs, etc. an excerpt from the commercial register showing the company's entry is required.

Certain types of business require a permit or trade card, i.e. you must first apply for a corresponding permit or trade card in order to be allowed to exercise your trade. This serves to protect the customer, i.e. the clientele you want to deal with later.

For example

  • Security services
  • Travel trade
  • installation
  • Gambling machines
  • gambling halls
  • Brokerage activities
  • Restaurant business
  • Alternative practitioners

You can also obtain further information from our trade team here.

Also important:

A business re-registration must be submitted if the registered office is relocated within Hofheim, the object of the business is changed, additional services are added or the name of the business operator is changed.

A business must be deregistered if the object of the business is no longer exercised and if the registered office in Hofheim is given up.

The prescribed forms must be used for the corresponding notification (business registration, change of registration or deregistration).

The fee for registering, changing or deregistering a business is € 28.00 plus € 8.00 for the confirmation of receipt.

The start, change or termination of a business must be reported within a period of 6 weeks.

The FrankfurtRhineMain Regional Association's "Bauflächenexplorer" helps planners, member municipalities, companies, investors and the public to find suitable sites in the association's area according to their individual location requirements "at the click of a mouse". There are currently around 3,300 hectares of potential land in the municipalities of the RhineMain region. The aim of the building land explorer is to help find suitable sites more quickly and in a more targeted manner in future, thereby making an important contribution to the activation of building land in the region. The 3,300 hectares of potential land comprises 1,700 hectares of residential land and 1,600 hectares of commercial land. This includes half of the mixed-use areas.

The online application is available to everyone on the regional association's website via the geoportal at www.region-frankfurt.de/geoportal .
