The City Council has established three standing committees to serve as its technical advisory bodies: the General, Finance, and Public Participation Committee; the Committee on Planning, Construction, Environment, and Transportation; and the Committee on Youth, Sports, Culture, Social Affairs, and Integration. These three committees generally meet one week before the City Council meeting to prepare specific resolutions for the City Council from a technical perspective. Each committee consists of twelve city council members, selected in proportion to the size of the political groups in the City Council.
