The municipal council has formed three standing committees as specialist auxiliary bodies: The Main, Finance and Participation Committee, the Committee for Planning, Construction, Environment and Transport and the Committee for Youth, Sport, Culture, Social Affairs and Integration. These three committees usually meet one week before the municipal council meeting in order to prepare certain resolutions for the municipal council meeting. The committees each consist of twelve city councillors, who are made up according to the strength ratio of the parliamentary groups in the city council.
