"We help children!" campaign
City-Marketing Hofheim hat gemeinsam mit dem Gewerbeverein Industrie Handel Handwerk e.V. (IHH) im Sommer 2007 eine Initiative gestartet, bei der Unternehmerinnen und Unternehmer, sowie Selbständige und Freiberufler, aus allen Bereichen der Hofheimer Geschäftswelt sich aktiv und ohne große Mühe beteiligen können.
Wie der Name der Aktion "Wir helfen Kindern!" bereits verkündet, möchten wir gerne Kindern helfen, die –aus welchen Gründen auch immer- in Schwierigkeiten geraten sind und dringend einen Erwachsenen brauchen, der ihnen Hilfestellung leistet.
Diese Schwierigkeiten können vielfältiger Art sein: z.B. ein dringendes Bedürfnis, ein aufgeschrammtes Knie, die Notwendigkeit ein Telefonat zu führen, aber möglicherweise auch die Flucht vor anderen Kindern oder Erwachsenen, die Kinder in irgendeiner Form bedrängen.
Die Hilfsbereitschaft kann ganz einfach mittels des hier abgebildeten Aufklebers signalisiert werden, der an der Zugangstür –für Kinder gut sichtbar – anzubringen ist.
The initiative to offer children a place of refuge in emergency situations was not a new invention, but is already being successfully practiced in many Hessian towns and communities. Following the example of the "Kinderschutzburgen" or "Notinsel" initiatives, the city of Hofheim is making a contribution to actively supporting children in need.
All Hofheim elementary school and kindergartens were informed about the "Wir helfen Kindern!" campaign, which has since educated parents and children about the campaign and the meaning of the sticker. The girls and boys were particularly reminded that the general rules for behavior in the city - for example, "don't go with strangers" - still apply. "In an emergency, children are best off where there are lots of people - in a store, for example. And that's where they should make themselves heard loudly," said Mayor Gisela Stang at the presentation of the project.
