There is plenty to discover on a leisurely shopping spree through the picturesque old town and city center of Hofheim: from delicatessens to fashion and selected gift items - there is something for everyone here.
The main shopping street in Hofheim is Hauptstraße, from which many other small alleyways and the square at Untertor branch off. In addition to fashion stores, bookshops, florists and many other stores, the main street is also home to numerous delicious restaurants. Traditional wine taverns and traditional German restaurants rub shoulders with international cuisine - from Asian to Mediterranean - and characterize the culinary diversity of the district town.
Hofheim also has several cozy cafés and bistros for a snack or coffee break. A glass of wine in the evening or an unusual cocktail can be enjoyed in the various pubs, wine taverns or iconic cocktail bars.
For a further stroll, you should definitely take a look at the narrow alleyways of the old town. In Kurhausstraße, Krebsgasse and Burgstraße, lovingly furnished stores invite you to browse. There are also several good restaurants and cafés around the square at Untertor, as well as other stores for shopping. Three times a year, namely during the Old Town Festival, the opening weekend of the district town summer and the Gallusmarkt, the stores in Hofheim can also be enjoyed on Sundays when they are open for business.
We particularly recommend the weekly market in Hofheim, every Wednesday from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. and on Saturdays from 7 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. in the parking lot at the Untertor. Regional and national foodstuffs, wines and delicatessen as well as flowers are sold here. The weekly market is supplemented by the changing offerings of the seasonal market.
Hofheim has had its own shopping center since 2010: The Chinon-Centernamed after the French twin town of Chinon. In contrast to the small individual shops in the old town, larger fashion chains, a drugstore and two supermarket branches have set up shop here. The Chinon-Center also has cafés, fast food outlets and a cinema.
Overall, the district town of Hofheim offers its visitors a unique and varied shopping experience with its individual and special stores in the town center and old town on the one hand and the well-known branches of larger shopping chains in the Chinon-Center on the other, as well as the additional weekly market.
