Seniors' Advisory Council
The interests of Hofheim residents who have reached the age of 60 are represented by the Seniors' Advisory Council. It advises the municipal council on matters that affect senior citizens. The Seniors' Advisory Council is elected every five years and consists of a total of 13 representatives from the individual districts.
Introducing the Seniors' Advisory Council
- We are the point of contact for all matters relating to people in Hofheim who have reached the age of 60.
- We work on a voluntary basis, are politically independent and non-denominational.

- We advocate for the interests of senior citizens vis-à-vis municipal committees, authorities, political parties, the economy and in social and cultural areas.
- We are the point of contact for people aged 60 plus in all districts.
- We advise the city council on matters that affect senior citizens and also participate in committees and bodies for this purpose.
- We seek personal contact with senior citizens in all districts in order to be able to take targeted action.
- We take up your wishes and suggestions and either process them ourselves or pass them on to competent contacts.
- We work together with the administration to develop proposed solutions.
- We promote coexistence between the generations.
- We promote awareness of barrier-free living for all.
- We develop ideas to improve the quality and situation of life for the older generation.
- We are involved in municipal planning and implementation of measures and programs for older people, e.g. in the areas of housing and mobility.
- We work towards improvements in the transport sector - especially in local public transport - because maintaining mobility is fundamental to active ageing.
- We campaign for barrier-free buses and bus stops and senior citizen tickets, for example.
- We initiate events to raise awareness of age-related illnesses and their prevention.
- We listen to you when you approach us with your concerns, questions or wishes.
- We put you in touch with contacts if you or your relatives need care.
- We can also put you in touch with contacts if you need information on subsidies for age-appropriate living.
