City Council
In the administration of the district town of Hofheim am Taunus, Councillor Bernhard Köppler is responsible for the departments of "Construction", "Childcare", "Public Safety and Order" and "Forest, Green Spaces and Cemetery". The "Building" department includes the buildings team and the building construction planning department of the city of Hofheim. The municipal daycare centers and the promotion of daycare facilities and care fall under the "Childcare" division. The "Public safety and order" division includes "General regulatory affairs, the municipal police, civil status and road traffic authorities". The "Forest, Green Spaces and Cemetery" division is divided into the "Green Spaces", "City Forest" and "Cemeteries" divisions.
Vita Bernhard Köppler
Bernhard Köppler was born on 26.02.1965 in Frankfurt am Main and grew up in Hofheim am Taunus. He is married to Wibke Köppler, a lawyer, and lives in the center of Hofheim.
After his training and basic military service in the German Armed Forces, he studied architecture in Cologne (Dipl.-Ing.) and later human resources development at the Technical University of Kaiserslautern (M.A.).
He worked for Nassauische Heimstätte from 1995 as a construction manager and in residential portfolio management and from 2003 as a project manager in integrated urban development and in municipal consulting until his election as a city councillor in 2019. He took over the management of the "Socially Integrative City" urban development programs in Dietzenbach, Offenbach, Bischofsheim, Neu-Isenburg and "Active Core Areas" in Hanau city centre and Schlüchtern.
Bernhard Köppler was also a member of the Supervisory Board of the Nassauische Heimstätte/Wohnstadt Group from 2001 to 2019. As a safety engineer, he was responsible for occupational safety issues and the implementation of an occupational health and safety management system.
As a member of the Hessen Chamber of Architects (AKH), he was a member of the Representatives' Assembly and the Urban Planning Working Group. He was also appointed to the nationwide steering committee of the Offensive Gutes Bauen.
Bernhard Köppler has been active in local politics in Hofheim since he moved to the city in 2013 - until his election as a city councillor, he was a member of the Hofheim city council and also deputy head of the city council.
