Marxheim
Marxheim is the oldest district of Hofheim and was incorporated in 1938. It is located south of the Hofheim train station, and has a population of 3,935.
The town is located at the foot of the Taunus Mountains and was first mentioned in historical documents in 1191. The Marxheim church and tower were first mentioned in 1366, and the Catholic church St Georg (which was rebuilt from 1943 to 1845) is still an important landmark among the half-timbered homes in the historic old town. The oldest home dates back to the 17th century.
Marxheim is also home to the Sport Park Heide, which is Hofheim's main sports facility offering two football pitches, tennis courts (indoor and outdoor) as well as a track and field facility with a restaurant.
